OUR STORY: The Short of It

Zach Greenwald founded Strength Ratio in 2014 as a fully individualized remote and in-person coaching service. His mission was to help athletes recover from injury and reach their performance goals through attentive coaching and scientifically informed programming. In the beginning, Zach’s clients included olympic weightlifters and CrossFit athletes.

Then, in 2016, Rebecca Lee and Kyle Clechenko partnered with Zach to take Strength Ratio from a sapling start-up to a rapidly growing business. Together, Zach, Becca, and Kyle worked to advance the Strength Ratio mission by acquiring more remote clients and opening the Strength Ratio onsite headquarters in their hometown of Asheville, NC.

As their client base grew, the team determined that a revised mission statement was necessary. After all, they weren’t just helping athletes with sustainable training. They were helping all kinds of people, with all sorts of priorities, some who consider themselves athletes, and some who don’t. Today, Strength Ratio strives to empower everyone, everywhere with sustainable training. It now comprises over 200 team members across the globe.

Strength Ratio looks forward to continued development as it helps the world advance towards a healthier, more equitable future by practicing and advocating for sustainable training.

And that’s the short of it. The long of it features the contributions of countless community members, two very important Beccas, a lot of persistence, and following your nose. The long of it is a pretty good story, and worth a read, if you’ve got the time.
